Hotel Corso on the Black Sea was losing guests even before they saw the rooms. Lost it on the site. A template page with standard sliders looked like hundreds of others – and people left without feeling the difference between Corso and the faceless guesthouse across the street.

This is a case from web studio 12ia. We’ll tell you how we made a website for a hotel that conveys the atmosphere of the place and converts visitors into guests.

Problem: the template hotel website does not sell

The owners of the Corso Hotel came to us with a specific pain. They already had a website – assembled on a ready-made template. Formally, everything is in place: photographs, room descriptions, contacts. But there is no result.

What didn’t work:

  • Template “for a hotel” – designed for a typical European business hotel. The atmosphere of the Black Sea, the comfort of the southern coast – none of this was in the design
  • Same look – the site was no different from its competitors. The visitor opened five tabs with hotels and could not remember where which one
  • Slow responses—guest questions via the form were answered manually, often with a delay of several hours. By this point, the person has already booked elsewhere
  • No mobile adaptation – the template on the phone was falling apart, the booking button could not be found

Task: full cycle of hotel website development – from design to integration of a smart chatbot. The site should highlight Corso among dozens of similar hotels and resolve guest questions without the participation of the administrator.

Individual hotel website design: how we conveyed the atmosphere

The main solution is to completely abandon the template. For a hotel site by the sea this is not a designer’s whim, but a business necessity. The guest chooses a vacation spot emotionally. If a site doesn’t evoke the feeling of “I want to go there” in the first three seconds, it doesn’t work.

What was included in the design:

  • The first screen is a full-screen photowith a sea view from the hotel. Not a stock picture, but the real view that the guest will see. The effect of presence from the first second
  • Coastal color palette – sand, turquoise and white tones. Each shade is taken from an actual photograph of the hotel and its surroundings
  • Typography – a combination of an elegant font for headings and a readable font for text. Feeling of level, but without pathos
  • Immersion photo gallery – large photographs of rooms, territory, beach and restaurant. Each block is a separate story

WordPress and Elementor: why this particular combination

Collected using WordPress + Elementor. For the hotel business, this is the best choice for three reasons:

The key difference from the template approach: each page block is designed for Corso’s tasks. We didn’t “tailor the content to a template,” but built a structure around what was important to guests.

Functional platform: not a business card, but a booking tool

Hotel website design is only half the job. The second half is the functions that turn a visitor into a guest.

What was implemented in the platform:

  • Room catalog with filtering – by type, capacity, view from the window. The guest finds a suitable option in a minute
  • Location block – an interactive map with marks of the beach, restaurants, and attractions nearby. For a hotel by the sea this is critical information
  • Seasonal special offers – a separate section with promotions, which the administrator updates independently through a visual editor
  • Mobile version – fully adapted to any screen. 70% of hotel website visitors come from their phones, often right on the beach, comparing options

Each function was tested using the scenario of a real guest: I found a hotel in a search, opened the website, looked at the rooms, asked a question, and booked. If friction arose at any stage, it was redone.

AI chatbot: the administrator who never sleeps

The third element of the project is AI chatbot integration. This is not a template widget with five canned answers. This is a full-fledged assistant who understands the context and answers guests’ questions in natural language.

Why does a hotel on the Black Sea need an AI bot:

  • Time zones—guests book from different regions. The bot responds at 2 am with the same quality as at 2 pm
  • Typical questions – “Is there parking?”, “How far is it to the beach?”, “Can I bring a dog?”. The bot closes 80% of requests instantly
  • Conversion – instead of “Leave a request, we will call you back,” the guest receives an answer immediately. While a person is in choice mode, he needs to be held
  • Collecting contacts – the bot unobtrusively offers to leave an email or phone number to send detailed information

The bot is trained on hotel data: it knows the number of rooms, prices, check-in rules, and nearby infrastructure. When he cannot answer, he transfers the dialogue to a live administrator with the full context of the conversation.

Result: a site that works for business

What the Corso Hotel received after its launch:

  • Unique identity – the site cannot be confused with any competitor. The design conveys the atmosphere of the place and sets expectations even before arrival
  • 24/7 support – AI chatbot processes requests at any time without losing potential guests
  • Autonomy – the hotel team independently manages content, prices and promotions without involving developers
  • The basis for SEO – correct structure, fast loading, adaptive design. The site is ready for promotion for the requests “hotel site by the sea”, “vacation on the Black Sea” and dozens of regional keywords
